Shopping in safety is essential during the ‘new normal’, as we all get used to slowly emerging from this coronavirus lockdown.
Peets Plaice in Churchtown, Southport, is getting ready to reopen this Friday (May 15) – but you will notice a lot of changes to ensure you can buy all your fresh and frozen fish and seafood in confidence.
The new measures are all thanks to established Southport firm Magnetic Activation, which has installed clear and professional signage in our shop windows, inside our premises, and on the floor inside our shop.
We are urging no more than one person – or no more than one couple – inside our shop at any one time.
If people are waiting outside to come in, then Magnetic Activation has installed a safety barrier outside, and signage on the pavement marking out two metre distances so everyone feels safe about where best to stand and wait.
Once inside our shop we have hand sanitisers available, while people are invited to pay contactless by card.
We are full stocked up and excited to go when we reopen this Friday! You can enjoy all our famous fresh fish and seafood, our frozen goods and new items too such as our range of sauces and home essentials such as eggs, cheeses, ham, chicken and bacon.
We closed our shop, at 142 Cambridge Road near Churchtown lights, last month as a safety precaution during the coronavirus outbreak. Now, with cases going down and carefully following the latest Government advice, it feels like the right time to reopen.
In the meantime, we launched our brand new Peets Plaice website, allowing customers to order and pay for the very best fresh and frozen fish and seafood online from the safety of your own homes, any time of day or night. We will maintain that service, which is proving to be hugely popular.
Peets Plaice owner Kevin Peet said: “I am looking to open the shop again but my hours will be limited initially. I am putting strict measures in place allowing for only one person, or a couple, in each time.
“Our new opening hours, at first, are going to be Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 9am and 5pm. These will be our opening hours initially, and we will look to extend our hours in a few weeks’ time.
“We look forward to seeing you all soon!”
Safety measures at the shop have been installed by Southport-based firm Magnetic Activation, which covers the North West.
They offer: Coronavirus safety stickers; screens and barriers; advice and consultation on the placement of products; installation, outside of shop opening hours to minimise disruption; and all aspects of branding and signage. Their vinyl is high quality, anti-scuff and vibrant print.
Connor Brown from Magnetic Activation said: “Shops, other businesses and customers are now coming to terms with social distancing and the importance that plays in stopping the spread of coronavirus.
“Social distancing is likely to remain in force for some time after the current movement restrictions are relaxed. More importantly, research has indicated that customers would feel more comfortable if they were.”
