As well as our shop in Churchtown in Southport – we have free parking right outside – you can also buy fresh fish and seafood online with orders delivered fresh and right to your doorstep.

Do you live further afield? We can arrange for your choice of fish and seafood to be delivered fresh to your door across the UK within 24 hours.

We also have a delivery service for businesses including restaurants, hotels, schools, care homes, pubs and bars across the Southport, Formby and West Lancashire area. Being local, we can top up your supply of fish or seafood during the day if needed.

Peets Plaice is owned by Southport fisherman Kevin Peet and wife Nicola.

Kevin has served seafood to customers including the Royal Family and has been fishing off our coastline for over 40 years.

Kevin, who ran a fish shop in Southport Market before his move to Churchtown, is proud to stock a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood including Southport’s famous potted shrimps, which Kevin catches and pots off the resort’s coastline.

Other top produce from our fresh fish and seafood counter includes: cod, salmon, hake, tuna, halibut, sea bass, smoked salmon, monkfish, Royal Greenland prawns, crayfish, crab, dressed crab, Scottish rope mussels, lemon sole, kippers, rollmop herrings, fish pie mix, smoked cod, smoked haddock, marinated anchovies, and much more besides.

All our fish and seafood is freshly caught and sourced from places including the Southport coast, Fleetwood and Scotland.

We also offer a wide variety of ready-made meals including our home-made fish pie, salmon pasta, monkfish curry, cod wellington, smoked haddock wellington and salmon wellington.

Kevin Peet said: “I have loved fishing ever since I was a kid, at primary school, when I was taught how to fish by my Dad, Chris. We used to love fishing off the coast of Southport, which I still do to this day.

“On quality, we will always beat supermarkets, because of the freshness of our produce.”

During the Christmas season, look out for specials to make your big day perfect including emperor prawns, lobster tails, seafood pate, fresh lobster, gravlax, scallops in or out of their shell, smoked fish such as hot smoked salmon, and more.

Kevin Peet said: “Everyone goes full out at Christmas, whether they are entertaining during December, enjoying New Year, Boxing Day, or Christmas Day itself.

“They just want everything to be right, and that is where we can help them.”

One person who wanted everything just right was the Queen Mother, who loved eating Kevin Peet’s famous potted shrimps.

For the past four decades, Kevin has been out to sea and netted the shrimps himself, before boiling and potting Southport’s most famous food delicacy.

The businessman also presents a weekly radio show on Mighty Radio in Southport.

Kevin said: “Customers are always welcome to call into our lovely shop in Churchtown.

“But we understand that sometimes people are busy – or even trying to avoid the British weather!

“We are delighted to launch our new website and home delivery service, allowing you to place your order online before we deliver directly to your door.

“We love to see people Shop Local, and we will work hard to help them do that.”
